Ozubulu Church Massacre: Governor Obiano should shut up now!

Blood stains after the killing in the Church
So far, the police claim to have arrested some alleged suspects over last Sunday massacre of innocent Novus Ordo worshippers at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Anambra State, but refuse to disclose their identity, their reason being that “it is a sensitive matter and we have to tread with caution.”

Police Commissioner Garba Umar
Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, who is about to contest for a second term by November this year, following the earlier police report, insists that the attack has nothing to do with terrorists but is “a gang war that had spilled over to the state from another African country.” — meaning the alleged feud between the two Ozubulu brothers (the alleged drug dealers). It was alleged that the attack was a spill-over of a drug related feud, between two Ozubulu brothers who live in South Africa, one of whom built the Church. The main matter was said to be between Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu, a.k.a Bishop, (rumoured to be a drug baron), and another Ozubulu man popularly known as Obrocho. It was alleged that the gunmen had traced Chief Aloysius to his house, but were told he had gone to church where he was meant to hold “a thanksgiving service”.

Some of the earliest reports even said Aloysius’ father was among those shot dead in the church. But we learnt from a reliable source that the old man was shot while in the Church and was rushed to Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital after the incident. He was badly injured and being an old man, he died the next day, August 7.
Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital where Pa Ikegwuonu died on Monday, August 7.

But the Chairman of Ekwusigo Local Government Area (within which Ozubulu is located), Mr Ikenna Ofodeme, dismissed this police/Obiano allegation. Hear him:

“This young man, Aloysius Ikegwuonu, they are calling based on the police report has built more than three churches in Ekwusigo communities. He is currently building a new one in one of the communities. He left this country two days ago.”

“If he was the target and he did a business transaction that resulted to this killing, those who are pursuing him would have killed him at the football pitch.  He played inter-village match a week ago before he left the country for his base. Some are quoting the governor of the state. The governor was briefed by the police and whatever he said, he should not be blamed because it was security agents that briefed him, and he must tell the people of the state what he was briefed on.

The shooting happened in the church.  Why didn’t the people go to his house or his father’s house?  What business has shooting people in the church got to do with business transaction between alleged drug pushers? This is purely a terrorist attack and has nothing to do with a drug pusher’s disagreement in South Africa with our son."
Ikegwuonu
In the same vein, the traditional ruler of Ozubulu community, Obi Fidelix Nnandi Oruche, dismissed the police/Obiano report and maintains that those saying so want to destroy the name of Ozubulu. “How can anybody be talking about business transaction disagreement when people were shot and killed while worshiping in the church? There is no relationship between shooting people in the church and business transaction by anybody. We are not aware of such disagreement,” he said.

Also, the President-General of Ozubulu Town Union and Chairman of Ebubechukwuzo Foundation owned by Aloysius Ikegwuonu, Mr Jovita Ofomata, has dismissed the allegation that Mr Aloysius Ikegwuonu is a drug pusher. Describing Ikegwuonu as a very kind man, Ofomata said:

“I am surprised at what people are saying about him. He is one man you will meet, and you would like to meet him again. It is through his foundation that he built the Catholic church where this incident happened. That is not the only Catholic church he has built. Two other Catholic churches, St Aloysius at Eziora Ozubulu and St Francis at Egbema Ozubulu, were also built by him. Through this foundation, he has helped so many people and also granted scholarships to many students in Ozubulu and beyond. What happened on Sunday has left us in a state of confusion and up until now, I must tell you that I am convinced that the act is a terror attack. There are so many stories flying around which are not true. People are saying there is a problem between Ebubechukwuzo and some other people and I can tell you  that is not true, because till now, he has not lodged any complaint that he has a problem with anyone. So I don’t know where that information came from. People say he is a drug lord, and that he took money belonging to another gang. So many stories, and I can tell you that we are even confused where some of these stories are coming from. What I can only say about this, is that we will leave the police and other security agencies to do their work, and we urge them to do it well, and I believe the outcome of it will help us to know what happened.”
Ofomata
Already people like Ofomata are currently being questioned by the police. (See: Ozubulu killings: Police invite LG chairman, Ozubulu Town Union PG, Ikegwuonu’s aide).

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader, Indigenous People of Biafra, calls for a forensic examination to ascertain the type of bullet used in the attack.

“We are asking for a forensic examination to be conducted to ascertain the type of bullet used in the attack. It makes a mockery of the entire security system that people can work into a town and massacre innocent civilians and walk away. Where are the security agencies? All options should remain open because our people are not known for gang killings. It is alien to us”, he said.

Kanu
Below are comments of the above mentioned individuals on the Ozubulu Church massacre, taken — or rather, selected — from a report by Vanguard newspaper of Tuesday, August 8, 2016, entitled: Ozubulu horror attack: How gunmen killed my three relations:

We’ve made arrests, but… — Police

Police authorities in Abuja, on Monday, confirmed that three persons have been arrested over last Sunday’s killing inside a church at Ozubulu, Anambra State. Force Public Relations Officer, Moshood Jimoh, who disclosed this, said appreciable progress was being made over the ugly development but referred our reporter to Anambra State police command for more information on the arrests. However, when contacted, Anambra State police spokeswoman, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, Nkiruka Nwode, said:

“Yes, we have made some arrests over the killings but we cannot tell you the number of suspects arrested or disclose their identities for now.  You know this is a sensitive matter and we have to tread with caution. All I can tell you is that we are on top of the matter and we will not relent until the perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to book.”

In the same vein, Vanguard reliably gathered that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, may direct a special tactical squad from Force Headquarters, Abuja, to wade into investigations over the  killings. The move, according to sources, followed insinuations that the state police command may have reached hasty conclusion by asserting that the massacre was drug related. Vanguard learned that the police boss has been in constant touch with Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Garba Baba Umar, over the ugly development and has directed that perpetrators of the crime be fished out and dealt with accordingly. The Principal Staff Officer, Public Affairs, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Jonah Achema, told Vanguard that the whole story was still at the level of speculation. He said:

“However, let me assure you that we are following the story of the so-called drug deals outside the shores of Nigeria.  We are already linking up with our international collaborators and respective countries to establish the veracity of their drug activities. “For now, that is the level we are.  We are focusing our searchlight everywhere.  It is regrettable that this measure of violence is happening in this part of the world. ‘’We assure Nigerians that if it is drug related, we will not spare any effort to see to the end and we will deal decisively with anybody involved, whether high or low.  It is also a call to rekindle the drug efforts by all stakeholders in the country.”

It’s gang war, not terror attack, Obiano, Anambra State Governor, insists.

Also, yesterday (Monday), Governor Willie Obiano said the attack on St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu was neither a terror attack nor by members of some groups of agitators in the country. In a special broadcast in Awka, Obiano said it was a gang war that had spilled over to the state from another African country, assuring that it would be the last time such a thing would happen in the state. The address read:

“With a sorrowful heart, I stand before you today to brief you on the tragic killing of 12 people at St Philips Catholic Church, Amakwa, Ozubulu on Sunday.

“First, I want to assure you all that what happened in Ozubulu was a tragic dimension of a long battle between two business partners who are from the same town. I have been fully informed that this dangerous conflict has been going on for a while in the country where they both live outside Nigeria before they decided to bring the conflict home. But let me assure you that Anambra is too hot for them to operate, going forward.

“This explanation, I believe, has erased the fears that the incident may have been caused by either some terrorist organizations or some members of some groups of agitators in the country. “What happened in Ozubulu was neither a terror attack as we know it, nor a violent action by some agitators. We are dealing with a dangerous Gang War that has spilled over to Anambra State from another African country. But this is the last time it will happen under my watch! “I want to assure you that we are on top of this situation. We are completely in charge here. The people directly and remotely involved in this crime are known to the law enforcement agencies. But no suspect, no matter how highly placed, is above the law.  So, we have taken bold steps to bring them to book and restore the peace and tranquillity that Anambra State has enjoyed since the past three years.”

Local Government Chairman reacts

Chairman of Ekwusigo Local Government, Mr. Ikenna Ofodeme, said he was compiling details of the casualties and wondered why someone should enter the church to kill innocent people. According to him, it is possible that God wanted to use the incident to expose some bad people in the community. He prayed that it will be the last time such an incident would happen in the local government. He said of the 12 people confirmed dead, 10 were females, including a baby, while two were males, adding that 10 of the bodies had been deposited at New Haven Mortuary, Ozubulu. He said:

“Doctors who were not even on call, and some who were at church service came to join doctors on duty to save the lives of the victims, as I am talking with you now, the accurate number of people who died are 12, including 9 women, a baby girl, and two men, and they are already at New Heaven Mortuary, Joint Hospital Ozubulu, and the one at NAUTH Nnewi.”

Ofodeme  clarified on the alleged involvement of a prominent son of Ozubulu— Aloysius Ikegwuonu — who is alleged to be the target of the attack, saying he could not have been the target because he was not in the country when the incident happened.

“This young man, Aloysius Ikegwuonu, they are calling based on the police report has built more than three churches in Ekwusigo communities. He is currently building a new one in one of the communities. He left this country two days ago.

This is purely a terrorist attack and has nothing to do with a drug pusher’s disagreement in South Africa with our son.”

The council chairman said the attack may be politically motivated to give the impression that there is no security in the state, just to rubbish Governor Obiano’s stride in addressing security in the state.

“If it were a misunderstanding between Mr Aloysius Ikegwuonwu and his kinsman in South Africa, what has that got to do with innocent worshipers in the church?” he asked.

Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader, chides police for quick conclusion

Reacting to the Ozubulu carnage, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, called for forensic examination of the bullets used by the gun men so as to trace the killers. Reacting to the barbaric incident, Kanu said he suspected some foul play and cover-up in the haste by the police to attribute the “heinous crime” to alleged feud between two indigenes of the community based outside the country. The IPOB leader faulted the police for their quick conclusion on the cause of the attack or the identity of the assailants without conducting thorough investigations, saying the police should not have quickly ruled out terrorists from the attack without proper investigations. According to him, there was nothing to suggest that the attack was not an act of terrorism. Kanu noted that Ndigbo do not have the culture of carrying out mass killing for whatever reason let alone carrying such attack in a place of worship, insisting that it could be from terrorist act and called for thorough investigation.

“We are asking for a forensic examination to be conducted to ascertain the type of bullet used in the attack. It makes a mockery of the entire security system that people can work into a town and massacre innocent civilians and walk away. Where are the security agencies?

“All options should remain open because our people are not known for gang killings. It is alien to us.

“Such atrocious crime has never ever been committed anywhere in Biafra land before. We are not known for mass executions. It was the same thing that happened at Uzo Uwani in Enugu State, the same scenario.

“I wonder why the narratives coming out is that it is two brothers who are feuding in far away South Africa. Is that possible? Does that make sense?”, Kanu queried. He lashed out at the security agencies for the level of insecurity in the country, saying that they only show strength when it comes to combating peaceful agitators.

Obi of Ozubulu (traditional ruler of the community) condemns killing

Also, yesterday (Monday), the traditional ruler of Ozubulu, Obi Fidelix Nnandi Oruche, condemned the attack of his subjects who went to worship at St Philip's Catholic Church, Ozubulu, describing it as callous, wicked, inhuman and cowardly, saying the perpetrators must not go unpunished. The visibly worried and angry traditional ruler said government and the security agencies must fish out those behind it for punishment, adding that it was a sacrilege for anybody, no matter the provocation, to go into a church and attack innocent worshippers who went to pray to their God. On the alleged business disagreement involving their sons living in South Africa that may have led to the incident, he said there was no connection between the killings in the church and business transaction. Obi Oruche totally dismissed the claim, adding that those saying so want to destroy the name of Ozubulu.

“How can anybody be talking about business transaction disagreement when people were shot and killed while worshipping in the church? There is no relationship between shooting people in the church and business transaction by anybody. We are not aware of such disagreement.”

The shooting of Pa Ikegwuonu, Aloysius's father, I think, was what led some to quickly conclude that the killers were after his son (Aloysius Ikegwuonu) and his family. But if this was so, why didn't they kill the old man right there in the Church? Again, what about Ikegwuonu's wife (Aloysius' stepmother) who also came to Church together with her husband on that fateful Sunday and was, just like other worshippers, injured during the sporadic shooting but she survived?

As for me, my suspicion is that Obiano, the Governor, is afraid the matter may tarnish the image of his administration and consequently cost him the loss of the forthcoming governorship election — hence his hasty vindication of the police report even though there is no evidence for that, still. This is dirty politics, and, with all due respect, my advice to the Governor is to shut up his mouth now!

The military weapons of Nigeria are in the hands of Hausa-Fulani Muslims who are predominantly terrorists and anti-Igbo. The earlier today's Igbos are informed about this and wake up from their apathetic slumber, the better.

Anambra Catholic Church killing: Jihadists or assassins?

Boko Haram terrorists
Parents Are Donating Their Daughters to Boko Haram in Nigeria to Become Suicide Bombers, says townhall.com. This news was reported by several Nigerian newspapers yesterday, and everybody accepted it as something "normal". And it is—because Boko Haram terrorists operate in northern Nigeria, and commit all their atrocities there. But that same yesterday, some gunmen in military uniform invaded a Novus Ordo Catholic Church in Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria—just exactly the way Boko Haram does in Northern Nigeria—and shot several worshippers to death.  Abnormal!
Many people were killed in a church attack in Ozubulu town in southeast Nigeria on August 6, 2017

Some of the worshippers killed in St. Philips Catholic Church, in Anambra by gunmen

Here is what Anambra Commissioner of Police, Mr. Garba Umar (a Muslim) told Nigerians, as reported by Vanguard newspaper of yesterday, August 6:

Police confirms killings of worshippers during Sunday mass in Anambra ON AUGUST 6, 201712:42 PMIN

NEWSCOMMENTS Awka – The police in Anambra on Sunday confirmed that a gunman killed eight worshippers and injured 18 others in an early morning attack on St. Philip Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar, in Awka said that the remains of the dead had been deposited at Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi. Umar also said that the injured were taken to the hospital. He said that preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the attack was carried out by a native of the area. “From our findings, it is very clear that the person who carried the attack must be an indigene of the area.

“We gathered that worshippers for 6 o’clock Sunday mass at St. Philip Ozobulu were in the service when a gunman dressed in black attire covering his face with a cap entered the church and moved straight to a particular direction and opened fire.

“The man after shooting at his targeted victims still went on a shooting spree, killing and wounding other worshippers,’’ he said.

The commissioner said information available to police showed that the attacker was speaking undiluted Igbo Language at the time he was firing at worshippers. Umar said though no arrest had been made but that the police already learnt that the attack followed a quarrel between two natives of Ozubulu residing overseas. Describing the act as sacrilegious, the commissioner of police said it was wrong for the perpetrators of the act to extend their quarrel into the church. He added: “such conduct shows the people behind the act do not fear God.’’ He said the police had launched a manhunt on those behind the act and gave an assurance that everybody behind the act would be brought to justice. Umar described any insinuation that the attack was carried out by Boko Haram elements as false and urged the people to go about their normal businesses. He said the police were on top of the situation. (NAN)

The said "Catholic Church" is certainly one of those completely bastardised Churches in eastern Nigeria where money and human "personalities" — usually some stupid & illiterate but money-producing traders — rather than God are being adored and celebrated by the ever-money-loving Novus Ordo clergy. Imagine a drug dealer building a church for God!

Another newspaper, PM News, confirming the above Vanguard report, says the attack was a "spillover of a drug related feud, between two Ozubulu brothers who live in South Africa" — one of whom built the church!

PM News:

Anambra Shooting: See Photo Of Man Gunmen Came For

Aloysius Ikegwuonu, the man claimed by some to have been traced to the church by the gunmen who killed several worshippers in the church
Earlier today Ozubulu attack that left many worshippers dead, after gunmen stormed St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu in Anambra state was reported.

However, social media report claim that the attack was a spillover of a drug related feud, between two Ozubulu brothers who live in South Africa.

The main matter was said to be between Chief Aloy Ikegwuonu a.k.a Bishop (rumoured to be a drug baron), and another Ozubulu man popularly known as Obrocho.

It was gathered that the gunmen had traced him to his house, but were told he had gone to church where he was meant to hold a thanksgiving service.

According to reports, the battle had claimed some lives already over there in South Africa.

If this report is true, then the question arises: why did the gunmen target everybody in the Church? Even the most callous of Igbo criminals don't act like that!

Here is a report from an eyewitness, already posted by some on facebook:

Firsthand Information On What Happened At St. Philip Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Anambra State Yesterday, As Ejike Ofoegbu Arrived Anambra From Aba:

We all were in the church during the 6am morning mass today. We saw two cars that drove into the church; because it was a Church premises we over-looked it and we considered them to be people that came for morning mass. But to the surprise of everyone, the car halted at the centre of the gate, meaning you cannot close the gate, since it was open already.

The driver came out of the car pretending he was fixing a problem; so everyone still ignored the drama happening outside the premises.

Suddenly, some men came out from the car, fully armed, all in Army uniform. I was lucky because I was sitting at the back, just beside the door, but I was clearly seeing what was happening. The sky was cloudy and everywhere seemed dark; no one saw what they were carrying, whether it was gun, but surely they were fully equipped.

They immediately rushed to the front door. I was too lucky to jump the fence, but before I had jumped, I heard gunshot everywhere in the building. They obstructed the front gate, because for women that was their only route to escape. That was why women were killed more than men. Children were killed as well, many were seriously injured.

After I had escaped, I started making calls to link my church members who were in the church, but they were not picking up; not knowing they were dead already.

The gunmen were not Igbos, because their language was not Igbo. The government should stop lying. I heard they said that the gunmen were flashing torchlight on us, but it is a lie, because the whole church was so lighted that even from outside you could see who was inside. Even at that, if they were really flashing torchlight to know who was their target, were those that were killed their target?

Like I said before—and I will say it again: I was at the back door. I saw all that happened. They were in Army uniform, face covered, standing at the front door, holding their trigger, and shooting at anything that moved. When the police came, I was waiting for them to ask questions of what happened, so that I would explain, but they were busy taking pictures of the dead ones, without knowing the fact.

Not too long after they had gone, I went back to the church. I was shocked by what I saw: my mother was lying dead! Many people were unconscious but later succumbed to death.

About one hour after the killings, the Police arrived the church. Two hours later, the Governor, Willie Obiano, arrived too. Everyone was shocked, wandering how the perpetrators stormed in Army uniform. Questions began to arise: "Who gave them the Army uniform? Who gave them the Army car?"

Surely jihad is here, and everyone has to defend himself/herself. A woman who still survived the mayhem said, "All I could remember is that I was sitting at the front when some people in Army uniform invaded the Church and started shooting at everyone. They just held the trigger and fired at everyone they sighted. I managed to hide under the seat but was shot in the leg. A boy was shot on the head, his brain busted, and blood spilled everywhere - even at my face.

An old Colombian Professor denounces Francis and his heretical supporters

 Jonathan Ekene Ifeanyi

Galat versus Francis
The article by OnePeterFive, published on July 31 with the title “Colombian Professor Criticizes Pope Francis, Declared Excommunicated”, is important but also misleading at the same time. It is important because it is certainly the site (OnePeterFive) that publicised the news about the good work Prof. Galat is doing on his television station (Teleamiga), but misleading because it gives the false impression that Francis, a heretic, can “excommunicate” a practising Catholic—or in fact that Galat has been “excommunicated” (and for opposing a manifestly heretical anti-pope for that matter!) Of course, OnePeterFive is among the innumerable “traditionalists” sites that pretend to be opposing the errors of Francis when—in fact—its contributors do defend him by regarding him as a validly elected pope and wilfully ignoring his manifest heresies which simply place him outside the Church.

The article, written by Maike Hickson, reads partly:

Some troubling news has, once more, just come to us from Colombia. As we reported a while ago, there was the case of Don Uribe Medina, a parish priest punished for criticizing Pope Francis and his novel teaching concerning marriage. Fortunately, that case was resolved on good terms, with Fr. Uribe’s own bishop now even fully defending the Church’s traditional teaching on marriage.

In the new case, however, Professor José Galat, former rector of the La Gran Colombia University and founder and owner of the television station Teleamiga, has been declared excommunicated for his purported schismatic attitude. More specifically, he and his own weekly TV program, Un Café con Galat (Coffee with Galat), have been accused of not being sufficiently obedient toward Pope Francis.

Significantly, it was Galat himself who, at the time of the Don Uribe case, hosted the priest and gave him the scope to defend his positions.

Galat himself recently made statements on his own television show, where, citing the “Sankt Gallen Mafia,” of whom Belgian cardinal Godfried Danneels is among the most famous members, he claimed that Pope Francis was unlawfully elected. He also claimed that Pope Francis is distorting many aspects of the Catholic Church’s fundamental teaching.

For these statements – and especially in light of the imminent mid-September 2017 visit of Pope Francis to Colombia – the bishops of Colombia have taken canonical steps against Prof. Galat.

One of the more unusual steps is that, on 26 July, Monsignor Pedro Mercado, president of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Bogotá, has published the following statement on Twitter (sic): “For obstinate disobedience toward the pope, José Galat has placed himself outside of the Communion with the Church. He cannot receive the Sacraments.” On the same day, the same prelate posted, again on his Twitter feed, a picture with himself and Pope Francis along with the caption: “I am Catholic and I am in communion!”

ACI Prensa, the Spanish branch of Catholic News Agency (CNA), has already published two articles on this Galat case. On 25 July, ACI Prensa reported that the Episcopal Conference of Colombia (CEC) “lamented the content of the Colombian television channel Teleamiga, which claims to be of Catholic inspiration but which attacks Pope Francis.” The bishops now “urged priests, religious, and lay people to cease any support they give” to this program. In their 25 July statement, the bishops also state that “Teleamiga does not represent, nor reflect, the teaching of the Catholic Church; therefore it cannot call itself a ‘Catholic channel.’” Here ACI Prensa also directly quotes the bishops: “Based on Canon Law, we point out that, by rejecting submission to the Pope and seriously injuring the communion of the Church, a schism is thereby incurred and other people are [thus also] induced to fall into it.”

The Colombian bishops – three of whom have signed the statement, among them the president of the Episcopal Conference – especially criticized the messages coming from Un Café con Galat as carried out by the founder and director of Teleamiga. The bishops accuse him of sowing among the Catholic faithful, with the help of “superficial and harmful arguments,” “attitudes of detachment and doubt regarding the validity of the pontificate of Pope Francis.”

The Colombian bishops also stressed that they have sought “the way of dialogue” with Galat “over the years.” “However, a calm and fruitful approach has not been possible, nor has there been a change of attitude [on his part],” they added. Next to telling Catholics not to support the channel anymore, the bishops also declare that “it is an absolute contradiction that the Teleamiga channel should continue to transmit the celebration [and Sacrifice] of the Eucharist and that, in its facilities, there is to be found the Blessed Sacrament [reserved].”

Teleamiga has been airing traditional Masses. The Colombian bishops advise the faithful to look for other ways and means to find “sound doctrine.” For example, the bishops have explicitly invited the faithful to prepare themselves well for a welcome of Pope Francis on his upcoming visit to Colombia (Bogotá, Villavicencio, Medellín, and Cartagena) and to listen to him “with docility.”

It might be of worth to note that the Archdiocese of Bogotá, Colombia is also about to host a conference given by Monsignor Pio Vito Pinto, dean of the Roman Rota, concerning the papal document Amoris Laetitia, with 600 participants in registered attendance already.

Teleamiga is a television station licensed, among others, by the La Gran Colombia University, Bogotá, whose rector was Professor Galat himself from 1981 to 2017. Galat has studied political sciences and philosophy at different universities in Paris, France; Barcelona, Spain; and Colombia. He is now 88 years of age…and just excommunicated.

On 26 July, ACI Prensa published a follow-up report on the Galat case, quoting Bishop Mercado: “[W]ith his angry response to the episcopate and his obstinate rejection of Pope Francis, Dr. José Galat has placed himself outside the communion of the Catholic Church[.] … He should not be admitted to the sacraments until he shows clear signs of repentance.” According to Bishop Mercado, “heresy and schism are typified as canonical offenses punished with (automatic) excommunication latae sententiae.” The bishop added, “Those who have committed this crime may not receive the sacraments of the Church until manifesting a visible and sincere repentance.”

At this point, Galat is disallowed from receiving even a Catholic burial. According to the bishop, “by disobeying Pope Francis in a visible, public, and reiterated way, Dr. Galat has placed himself outside the communion of the Church.”

According to ACI Prensa, Bishop Mercado said, “[I]t is painful for me to realize that Dr. Galat, who for so many years served the Church faithfully, has ended his days in this pitiful spiritual situation.”

These tones do not sound very merciful, at least to some observers.

Well, making a mockery of this purported “excommunication”, someone wrote today—criticising OnePeterFive: Colombian Professor José Galat Went To Mass This Morning And Received Communion - Excommunicated by A TWEET? LOL!”

Please mark the words: "He also claimed that Pope Francis is distorting many aspects of the Catholic Church's fundamental teaching". "Claimed"? Here is just a clear example of how Catholics deny the truth in the face of current scandals. Let OnePeterFive show us, from the words of Prof. Galat below, what is a mere "claim" among all he says against Francis and his gang of heretics.

Here, our interest is not on this distorted report but rather on Prof. Galat’s responses to the accusations of these (above mentioned) heretical & Francis-supporting “bishops”. The first, written on 25 July, is as roughly translated below:

TELEAMIGA'S RESPONSE TO THE EPISCOPAL CONFERENCE

We cordially allow ourselves to share with the public the response to the communiqué of the Episcopal Conference dated July 25, 2017:

1. Although it is true that a Catholic should have love and adherence to the LEGITIMATE successor of the apostle Peter, we ask whether this should be given to a Pope not chosen by God, but by men—and worse, by a “mafia de cárdenles”, a cynical expression used by the leader of the same, Cardinal Godfried Dannels, who declared publicly that this mafia determined the resignation of Benedict XVI and put in the papacy Francis.

This clearly shows that whoever appears as a present pontiff could scarcely have been chosen by the Holy Spirit, and that his choice was the work of a politically corrupt mafia of cardinals. José Galat does not say it. It is the same Cardinal Dannels who shamelessly affirmed it as can be corroborated in different sources:

2. The anti-canonical choice of Francis points to his undoubted illegitimacy of origin, to which was later added an illegitimacy of exercise for teaching doctrines contrary to the Catholic faith. Some significant examples show it:

— According to Francis, everyone is saved whether or not he complies with the commandments, which openly contradicts Jesus' affirmation “Many are called but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14).

— That proselytism is nonsense and that the one who does it commits an injustice, when on the contrary Christ says to his disciples “Go and make DISCIPLES of all nations baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 28; 19).

— That adulterers ... may receive communion, when St. Paul warns: “Therefore, he who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to give an account of the Body and Blood of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 11; 27).

There are many more examples, which I have been pointing out in my Teleamiga programmes.

3. Now, because they are defending the faith of the Church in the face of the follies of the pontiff, some want to point out that (our channel) is a non-Catholic channel. And with this the directives of the Conference incur a great contradiction, implying that we are schismatics who defend the faith, when it is the exact opposite, because to attack those truths puts the one who does it outside the Church, and that is the one who becomes a schismatic and apostate.

4. “False and harmful” is the silence of those called to defend the faith who do not do it by complicity or cowardice and want to indulge in vain against Teleamiga, if it does.

5. Very respectfully we challenge the Colombian Episcopate to respond and counter-argument with biblical evidence and the traditional teaching of the Church, what are our alleged errors that have caused their “superficial and harmful” anger.

In conclusion, we and the whole country require an answer. Why persecute those who defend the faith of the Church?

Again, on 26 July, just a day after his first response to the heretical “episcopal” steps taken against him, Prof. Galat also responded on his Facebook page to the claim that he is using “harmful and superficial” arguments (roughly translated below):

ANSWER TO COLOMBIAN CATHOLIC HIERARCHY

Among the unjust accusations made by the Colombian Episcopate against Teleamiga and José Galat, those who call their opinions “false and harmful” and based on "noxious and superficial" arguments stand out.

• FALSE AND HARMFUL?

* False and harmful are the heresies taught by theologians, bishops, cardinals and even by Pope Francis, and not the defence of the truths of the faith that we have been doing on our Teleamiga Channel.

* False and harmful, and even very harmful, is to induce the eternal damnation of those who follow the heresies and those false doctrines against the faith of the church, taught and sustained by Pope Francis.

* False (is) Amoris Laetitia, which instead of calling (adultery) a sin, calls it an “irregular situation”—one of the sins that most displease God, which is the betrayal of a person who joins another who is not his legitimate partner. It is harmful to destroy the family with the virtual legalization of adultery that is now to be easily achieved, according to the principles contained in that document of Francis.

* It is false and harmful to mislead believers by telling them that the whole world is saved and that the logic of the gospel is that no one is condemned, thus contradicting one of the maxims of Jesus Christ: “If you want to enter into eternal life, keep the commandments” (Matthew 19:17), but the breach of this condition closes the door of salvation and therefore Christ warned: “many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)

* False and harmful is to say that “if the education of a boy is given by Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox or Jews, I do not care. I am interested in being educated and taken away from hunger.” (Francis expressed literally in the interview given to Gerson Camarotti, from Global News, on July 29, 2013, in Rio de Janeiro). But giving priority to the education of the body by bread rather than by the word of God severely contradicts the statement of Jesus Christ, "Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4: 4).

* False and harmful are many other erroneous teachings that are being proclaimed everywhere by Pope Bergolio.

* Very false and very harmful! Are the inexplicable silences of the Catholic hierarchy, by principle called to teach the truths of faith and to correct errors and heresies before the nonsense that Pope Francis daily dictates.

Then a voice like that of the Canal Teleamiga, and like those of Jose Galat and Rafael Arango, who fervently defend the true teachings of Christ, these replacing the silent hierarchs, are far from being false and harmful voices. They are those that every Christian should have on his lips, and therefore the Lord blesses those who pronounce them and rejects those who on earth claim censorship and excommunication.

And finally, it is neither Teleamiga nor José Galat, nor the millions of faithful who tune into their programmes, that are outside the Church. Those who have remained or will remain outside the church, are undoubtedly those who support the heresies or do not fight them as it is their duty to do so.

• SUPERFICIAL AND HARMFUL ARGUMENTS?

* Superficial and harmful, they would be lucubration without proof or logical rigour, but the arguments of the badly qualified false and harmful opinions of Teleamiga, are on the contrary rigorously supported with real facts, taken from serious and known sources. Let it not be said, then, that the arguments set forth in "Coffee with Galat," to show the follies of Pope Francis and his entourage of flatterers, are superficial and harmful opinions. Take the trouble to consult the links that are constantly mentioned in Teleamiga programmes, so that they do not later claim, nor qualify as superficial and harmful those that are their own omissions in this regard.

In conclusion, superficial and harmful is: Illusion and flooding the masses without criteria, scratching their affective sensibilities, and neglecting the word of God, tradition and sound Doctrine. Let us not forget that “he who wants to be friends with the world, is an enemy of God” (James 4: 4).

Galat versus Francis
Finally, it is good to remark that the Nigerian situation—tragically—is currently worse than that of Colombia. We can see, at least from the case of Prof. Galat, that in Colombia—as in some other countries—the lay faithful are reacting to the heresies of Bergoglio and his heretical bishops and priests. Quite contrarily, in Nigeria—at least talking from my own personal experience—virtually all the laity and clergy are in support of Francis and his heresies. Indeed, it’s a nationwide spiritual blindness! We need many Prof. Galats here. But unfortunately not even one exists.
