Why is Buhari Killing Defenseless People of the South-South While Ignoring Murderous Boko Haram in the North East?

                                                      By Jonathan Ekene Ifeanyi

"Villagers who were not engaged in any criminal activity came out to wave to the aircraft when suddenly the gunship opened fire. Those who ran into their houses were roasted when the gunship came back and napalmed the whole village."
In 2013 Major-General Mohammadu Buhari described the war against the Boko Haram sect as simply injustice against the North. Buhari spoke as “Guest of the Week” on Hausa programme of Liberty Radio, Kaduna. He said special treatments were given to the Niger Delta militants by the Federal Government, while the Boko Haram members were being killed daily and their houses demolished. Buhari said he was not in support of the emergency rule declared in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states because President Goodluck Jonathan failed from the onset in addressing the nation’s insecurity. Shockingly, Buhari said the security challenges confronting the country started in the Niger Delta where he alleged that politicians desperate to retain their positions recruited youths and armed them to win elections by force.

He said:

“What is responsible for the security situation in the country is caused by the activities of Niger Delta militants. Every Nigerian that is familiar with happenings knows this. The Niger Delta militants started it all. What happened is that the governors of the Niger Delta region at that time wanted to win their elections, so they recruited youths and gave them guns and bullets and used them against their opponents to win elections by force. After the elections were over, they asked the boys to return the guns, the boys refused to return the guns. Because of that the allowance that was being given to the youths by the governors during that time was stopped. The youths resorted to kidnapping oil workers and were collecting dollars as ransom. Now a boy of 18 to 20 years was getting about $500 in a week. Why will he go to school and spend 20 years to study and then come back and get employed by government to be paid N100,000 a month—and that is if he is lucky to get employment?

“So kidnapping became very rampant in the South -South and the South-East. They kidnapped people and were collecting money.

“How did Boko Haram start? We know that their leader, Mohammed Yusuf, started his militant and the police couldn’t control them and the army was invited. He was arrested by soldiers and handed over to the police. The appropriate thing to do, according to the law, was for the police to carry out investigations and charge him to court for prosecution, but they killed him; his in-law was killed; they went and demolished their houses. Because of that, his supporters resorted to what they are doing today. You see in the case of the Niger Delta militants, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua sent an airplane to bring them, he sat down with them and discussed with them; they were cajoled and they were given money and granted amnesty. They were trained in some skills and were given employment, but the ones in the North were being killed and their houses were being demolished. They are different issues. What brought this? It is injustice.” These favourable statements about the Islamic terrorists who have so far murdered about 20, 000 innocent Nigerians and displaced about 1.5 million people—and unfavourable statements about the people of the South-South and the South-East—were made by Mohammadu Buhari, yet when he contested for the post of president in 2015, he was massively voted for by the gullible and unthinking Nigerian people, including many Igbo “Christians”. Of course, this happened partly because of the lies told by Buhari and his Islamic party, the APC, during their period of campaign—the state of insecurity in the country, particularly, was their primary instrument of political propaganda during that period. In Borno State, for instance, Buhari stated emphatically that if elected, Boko Haram would be a thing of the past. His exact words:

“I’m happy that I received befitting welcome. If elected, I will focus on tackling the persistent insecurity affecting the northeast. It is not easy as the damage has been done. Your royal highness, God willing, if APC government is elected, all towns under Boko Haram control will be liberated and rebuilt.”

In his inaugural speech on May 29, 2015, Buhari told the world this:

"At home we face enormous challenges. Insecurity, pervasive corruption, the hitherto unending and seemingly impossible fuel and power shortages are the immediate concerns. ...We can fix our problems. The most immediate is Boko Haram’s insurgency. ... But we cannot claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons held hostage by insurgents. This government will do all it can to rescue them alive. . . .For now the Armed Forces will be fully charged with prosecuting the fight against Boko Haram. . . We shall improve operational and legal mechanisms so that disciplinary steps are taken against proven human right violations by the Armed Forces. Boko Haram is not only the security issue bedevilling our country. The spate of kidnappings, armed robberies, herdsmen/farmers clashes, cattle rustlings all help to add to the general air of insecurity in our land.”

But what have we witnessed so far after his being elected? The worst indeed! Instead of ebbing, the deaths and destruction caused by Boko Haram are simply galloping currently compared to the pre-May 29 era. There have been over 30 terror-related attacks since the election of General Muhammadu Buhari on March 28, 2015. So far, just within two months since he assumed office, about 700 innocent people have been killed either through bombings, or beheading, or shooting. Precisely, here are some of the figures, as reported by some newspapers:

May 30, 2015: At least 13 people were killed during an attempted night invasion of Maiduguri by the Islamic terrorists. May 30: About 26 people—perceived to be Muslim infidels by Boko Haram, that is, Muslims who are against the activities of the Islamic terrorists—were killed in a bomb attack on a Mosque near Borno market. May 31: Four people were killed at Gamboru market in Maiduguri. June 2: 17 people were killed at Maiduguri Abattoir. June 3: Four people were killed in an attack on mechanical workshop on Baga Road, Maiduguri. June 4: A female suicide bomber killed two near a military checkpoint in Maiduguri. June 5: 40 people were killed in a suicide attack on Jimeta Night Market, Adamawa State. June 7: 3 people were killed in a suicide attack on Baga/Monguno Highway. June 11: 37 people were killed in separate attacks on six villages in Borno State. June 15: Twin suicide bomb attacks killed 11 persons in Potiskum, Yobe State. June 17: Accidental explosion killed 15 persons in Monguno. June 22: 8 people were killed in twin suicide attacks on Baga Fish Market, Maiduguri. June 23: 15 people were killed in suicide bomb attack on Nannawaji Village, Gujba Council of Borno State. June 23: 20 people were killed in an attack on Debiro, headquarters of Hawul Council of Borno State. June 27: 5 people were killed at a General Hospital in Molai, Borno State. June 30: 48 people were killed in Mussaram I and Mussaram II, near Monguno. July 1: 98 people were killed in Kukawa Village. July 2: 11 people were killed at Malari village along Bama/Konduga highway. July 3: 29 people were killed in Mussa Village, Askira-Uba Council of Borno State. July 5: 51 people were killed in a bomb explosion in a church in Jos, the Plateau State capital. July 7: 26 people were killed in a bomb blast in Zaria, Kaduna State. July 12: A bomb scared worshippers at the ECWA “church” in Tundunwada area of Jos, Plateau state. A package that looked like a bomb, found in the church’s toilet, exploded, creating fears and panic of a possible Boko Haram attack. July 12: Boko Haram killed 11 people in Yobe, and took over the highway in Damat. July 13: At least 43 people were killed in attacks by Boko Haram in a remote region in the country's northeast, according to police and residents. The attacks happened Friday on the villages of Kalwa, Misala and Gwollam and people were either shot dead or stabbed, said Aderemi Opadokun, Borno state police commissioner. July 13: Two bombs planted by suspected Boko Haram fighters went off at a bar in a northern town in Cameroon, killing at least 14 people. Col. Didier Badjeck said three Chadian soldiers were among those killed in Fotokol, a town on the border with Nigeria's Borno state. He said no Cameroonian soldiers were hurt. Resident Abdoulaziz Bambam said the death toll may rise because more bodies were being recovered. July 14: Boko Haram gunmen killed dozens of people in four villages in northeast Nigeria, slitting some residents’ throats and opening fire on others. “Boko Haram gunmen came into our villages at night, killing 43 people,” said Sheriff Kulo, from Kilwa village near Monguno, who escaped to the Borno state capital, Maiduguri. July 17: Multiple suicide bombs planted by Boko Haram killed 64 people in the north-eastern Nigeria. July 26: A girl aged about 10 carried out a suicide bombing in north-eastern Nigeria, killing at least 16 people, police said. The attack took place near a crowded market in the city of Damaturu in Yobe state. About 50 people were wounded.

All these figures are in no way accurate—so many deaths have been unreported! Journalists often report only what they were able to see or hear, ignoring the rest of the stories!

For instance, AFP reported one of the killings this way:

“...The latest carnage in series of attacks that have claimed more than 200 lives in just three days happened Friday. According to an AFP tally, no fewer than 650 people have been killed since President Muhammadu Buhari took over in May.

“Local resident Haladu Musa, who fled the attack, told how ‘large numbers’ of fighters poured into the village, overpowering government forces deployed to prevent the insurgents reaching Maiduguri.

“Then, as people began to flee, a number of female suicide bombers started blowing themselves up in their midst, killing large numbers of people, he said.

“Most of the casualties came from the suicide bombings,” he said, without being able to give a precise figure for the dead and injured.

“A total of six suicide bombers detonated themselves… killing scores of people while some people were also wounded. A soldier also died,” the Nigerian army said in a statement without specifying the sex of the bombers.

“The army said a jeep full of improvised explosive devices was recovered by troops, adding there was an ongoing search “for any bombs that might have been hidden or left unexploded in the area.”

“Musa said the militants looted shops and torched “almost half the village” before eventually being repelled after the military sent in reinforcements.

“Danlami Ajaokuta, a civilian vigilante helping the military battle Boko Haram, who also witnessed the attack, spoke of heavy casualties.

“The main concern now is to evacuate and attend to the injured and later recover the dead bodies now lying in the village,” he said, adding that more than 100 injured had been taken to the hospital....”

And so on! Boko Haram, which is fighting to establish a hard-line Islamic state in northeast Nigeria and has sworn allegiance to the Islamic State group, has intensified its campaign of violence since President Muhammadu Buhari came to power on May 29, and these attacks, unfortunately, are no longer being reported by the Nigerian prominent newspapers massively controlled by the ruling party. The militants have committed unimaginable atrocities all in the name of fighting for their idol and wicked god called Allah! They have beheaded so many Christian men, shot women in their homes and dragged men and boys from their beds to kill them in the dead of night. As I write, Boko Haram is still killing innocent people in the north-eastern Nigeria—aiming ultimately to, if possible, wipe out the entire Christians from the country, to destroy atheistic western democracy and establish an Islamic caliphate, and to Islamise the whole nation thereafter.
Buhari’s priority, as Prof. Chinweizu has rightly observed,
“is Genocide-for-oil, not Boko Haram, or corruption or
the fuel, power shortages etc. that he claimed.”

And what has Buhari’s government been doing about all this?  Nothing indeed!

Boko Haram leader, Abubakah Shekau
Buhari’s priority, as Prof. Chinweizu has rightly observed, “is Genocide-for-oil, not Boko Haram, or corruption or the fuel, power shortages etc. that he claimed.”

Buhari’s mantra of “change” turns out to change from fighting Boko Haram to napalming defenceless villagers in the oil producing Niger Delta.

In his inaugural speech Buhari said:

"The amnesty programme in the Niger Delta is due to end in December, but the Government intends to invest heavily in the projects, and programmes currently in place. I call on the leadership and people in these areas to cooperate with the State and Federal Government in the rehabilitation programmes which will be streamlined and made more effective. As ever, I am ready to listen to grievances of my fellow Nigerians. I extend my hand of fellowship to them so that we can bring peace and build prosperity for our people."

Then—just 3 weeks later, even before announcing his cabinet, we got the news: ‘War against oil Thieves: Buhari Orders Attacks in Akwa Ibom Creeks, Kills 350

It has been confirmed that Nigeria Air Force, under the directives of the Buhari-led administration, raided Ikot Obiokut, a border community in Cross River state for reasons not yet clear to observers. According to sources, “one villager who escaped the massacre by swimming across the creek reported that they were going about their normal business when suddenly the gunship flew over the village. Villagers who were not engaged in any criminal activity came out to wave to the aircraft when suddenly the gunship opened fire. Those who ran into their houses were roasted when the gunship came back and napalmed the whole village. Uwem, the survivor, is now living in fear of his life.”

An anonymous reporter confirmed that raid by Hind helicopter gunships using incendiary bombs massacred over three hundred villagers and about twenty militants! See: War against oil thieves: Buhari Orders Attacks in Akwa Ibom Creeks, Kills 350

One observer who wishes to remain anonymous said: "It seems the present Federal Government is avenging for the killed Boko Haram terrorists."

Is this massacre of Niger Deltans what Buhari regards as “[extending] my hand of fellowship to them so that we can bring peace and build prosperity for our people”?  But why is he doing this? Here’s why:

“What is happening in the Niger Delta is pure criminality of the highest order, arising from total disregard for constituted authority. In Iraq, thousands of people lost their lives because of an insurrection against the government during the reign of former Iraqi leader, Saddam Hussein. We can do away with 20 million militants for the rest 120 million Nigerians to live.” (An incitement to genocide by Bala Ibn N’Allah of Kebbi State, a Caliphate member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, The Guardian, Thursday, May 28, 2009).a historical backgrounder to all this, go to:

In 2005, Boko Haram was adopted and sponsored by Buhari’s fellow Caliphate politicians as their Jihadist army for re-conquering power in Nigeria. Having retaken power with the help of Boko Haram, they have swiftly resumed their interrupted project of making war on the people of the Niger Delta whose oil the Caliphate insists does not belong to the people of the Niger Delta but to “the North”—i.e. the people of the Caliphate’s home territory.

It should also be noted that the same Buhari had early this month relocated over 49 Boko Haram inmates from the North East to Aguata Prison in Ekwuluobia, Anambra State—a predominantly Christian region. Why did he do this? Many gullible Igbos never asked. But we thank God for some few personalities, like the Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Elder Chris Eluemuno, who immediately called on Mr Muhammadu Buhari to rescind his decision.

Eluemuno demanded the immediate relocation of the inmates in the interest of peace and tranquillity in the country. Speaking with newsmen at his country home, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Elder Elumuno said:

“Our position is that it is not acceptable to us having them here, if what President Mohummadu Buhari has to give us as dividend of democracy is Boko Haram terrorists, it is very, very unfair. Aguata prison in Ekwulobia is not a maximum prison, it is an ordinary prison and if the Federal Government meant well for us, Igbo, it is not terrorists that they will bring to us, it is not acceptable to us and we are asking them to think again and look for a better place and send them there. Let him build a camp and put them there if there are not enough accommodations in the North East prisons, the prison in Ekwulobia does not have maximum security, there are maximum security prisons all over the country. Successive Federal Governments of Nigeria have always taken the Igbo for granted and pleaded that nobody should push the Igbo to the walls to incur their wrath, we are asking him to please, remove the suspects from Anambra State.”

Anambra State governor Willie Obiano also assured the people of the State that the terrorists will be relocated. But as I write, the terrorists are still in Anambra State. See: http://www.naij.com/494753-boko-haram-prisoners-still-in-anambra-prisons.html

All or Nothing: Final Battle Being Fought!

Catholics around the globe must wake up from their apathetic slumber and realise that “Pope” Francis, an anti-pope, is solely responsible for all the evils we’re witnessing currently around the world—whether we’re considering the current unprecedented assault on Catholic doctrines by the man himself and his co-workers, or the abandonment of true religion and religious faith by men and women around the world and hence the diabolical “approval” of deadly sins by different countries—homosexuality in Ireland, in Mexico, in the United States, and so on.

Below is a newsletter we’ve just received from late Father Gruner’s Fatima Centre. Although here, Francis 1 is still being presented as “the Pope”, the write-up is touching, so we have decided to publish a better part of it:

All or Nothing: Final Battle Being Fought!

In 2013 late Father Gruner was harassed in Rome while he was trying to see Pope Francis to discuss the issues of Fatima and the consecration of Russia. The Head of Vatican Security told him plainly: "You can't see the pope". Ironically, it was the same pope of the "poor" and "marginalized" that everybody could and can now see and touch!

Francis 1!

Any serious suggestion that the End Times may be upon us is certain to raise eyebrows and a weak smile of condescension among those who regard the present state of the Church and the world as admittedly problematic but assuredly not insoluble by the usual means: economic policy, social reform, dialogue, diplomacy, and, above all, rhetoric that resonates with popular sentiment, largely generated by the media.

It may not be the best of times, but it is decidedly not the worst, according to conventional wisdom, as expressed by broadcast pundits and political leaders and, quite sadly, the optimistic promoters of what is now called “Francis-Church.”

Curiously, or perhaps not so curiously, enthusiasm for the current papacy is often found in secular publications with a longstanding opposition to Church teaching, such as the New York Times, which welcome what they regard as the long-overdue deconstruction of Catholic dogma and morals by a man with a mind and heart attuned to the needs of those living in the modern world (see: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/15/opinion/pope-francis-and-the-art-of-joy.html?_r=0).

Indeed, there are some rose-colored views that credit these latter days with significant improvement as evidenced by what are considered enlightened decisions about homosexual “marriage” and a shift in the attitude towards homosexuality among religious institutions, including the Catholic Church, which, admittedly, must do more to remove the stigma its former bigotry imposed on same-sex couples (see: http://www.catholicvote.org/the-catholic-church-in-crisis/).

That approval of sodomy should have become the measure of social progress is alarming, but it appears to alarm very few — at least not seriously. And the Church’s tepid response — or complete lack of response in some instances — to developments that attack the foundation of Faith and family betray the absence of moral seriousness on the part of those into whose hands the institutional Church — and the direction of countless souls — have been placed.

The media, casting about for targets at which to aim accusations of intolerance and religion-based bigotry, have been forced to focus on Protestant figures, such as Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who has said plainly that we have reached a decisive moment in our history: we must choose between God’s law and man’s law. The Supreme Court, according to Justice Moore, has set itself in opposition to eternal and natural law and its decisions and their ramifications must be resisted, no matter what the price.
(see:http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/07/roy_moore_tells_radical_anti-a.html).

Justice Moore’s remarks, according to media reports, are made to “radical” anti-abortion and anti-gay rights groups, a.k.a Christians. There is a menacing tone to the news coverage, one that suggests Moore represents a danger that must be addressed. No doubt, in the fullness of time, which is moving toward us very swiftly, it will be.

A lawsuit has already been filed against a publisher of the Bible by a homosexual who alleges the Bible is a “hate book” that should be banned. (See: http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/miles/150711). The lawsuit, filed in Michigan, alleges "malicious negligence, strict liability, malice, libel, and violating his civil rights." The man who filed the lawsuit is seeking $60 million in damages for what he claims is the “emotional duress and mental instability” he suffered as a result of the Bible’s description of homosexuality as a sin. We are seeing the beginning of a campaign of suppression that will give rise to criminal and civil statutes that make traditional moral teaching a hate crime.

In the wake of the legalization of “gay marriage” in the United States, following its legalization in Ireland, the Pope, in contrast, identified what he considers the major moral evil of our time: neglect of the environment as witnessed by such atrocities as too much “air conditioning.” And, of course, there is always the daily attack on Catholics who take the doctrines of the Faith too literally, along with the vilification of capitalism (see:http://fatima.org/perspectives/sv/perspective750.asp).

The Pope’s recently concluded trip to South America saw him praising a martyr to Marxism, Father Juan Espinal, and accepting and later placing at Our Lady of Copacabana’s feet the hammer-and-sickle crucifix and medallion presented to him by Bolivian strong man Evo Morales. (See:

The family, as defined by the Church, by natural law, by anyone with common sense, is under intense and unprecedented assault throughout the world, and the Pope is preoccupied with his favourite topic: the poor, which he claims are at the centre of the Gospel. Which gospel? One has to wonder. And after prescribing socialist economic policies based on newly minted sacred rights to labour and lodging, the Pope cavalierly admits to journalists on his plane trip home that he is “allergic” to economics, about which he knows very little. (See: http://www.dpa-international.com/news/international/sidebarpope-is-allergic-to-economics-expresses-sympathy-for-tsipras-a-45938772.html)

What can be said while remaining respectful?

Meanwhile, in the real world, diabolical disorientation is accelerating. The new hero in the media is Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner, who is being lionized and showered with awards for having the courage to mutilate his body so that he might “become a woman.” The U.S. military is ready to accommodate the transgendered who wish to become soldiers. And bakers who don’t want to make cakes for “gay weddings” are being punished by the courts with economic ruin. Imprisonment cannot be far in the offing.

And the Catholic Church is getting ready for round two of the Synod on the Family, which is obviously designed to change the Church’s teaching about divorce, remarriage and reception of the sacraments. Homosexuality will also be on the agenda, apparently for the purpose of discovering something wonderful or redeeming about sodomy and the moral values of those who practise it. (See: http://fatima.org/perspectives/ef/perspective748.asp)

Sister Lucy warned us of this diabolical disorientation that has become our reality. She also said something about the final battle now being fought: Satan's attack would focus on the family and marriage (see: http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2015/06/cardinal-what-sister-lucia-told-me.html).

Can there any longer be any doubt about what is at stake at the coming Synod on the Family in October?

Why Is Boko Haram Still Killing Innocent People Under Buhari’s Government?

      by Jonathan E. Ifeanyi
The Islamic terrorists Boko Haram
Boko Haram

President Buhari
Just a year ago, on July 24, 2014, my piece, No, Balarabe Musa, Jonathan Not To Blame For Boko Haram Menace!” was published by PM News. It was a response to The Guardian interview of the former governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, entitled, ‘Boko Haram Insurgency is Political.’ The interview was published on page 17 of The Guardian on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. In it, the former governor stated plainly that Jonathan’s government was responsible for the Boko Haram menace in the country. “What people don’t know is that different interests have been hijacking Boko Haram at various stages,” he said. “The first stage, from the information available to us, was a quarrel between the defunct ANPP and PDP in the North-East. This brought about the agent provocateur called Boko Haram. Later, when the political leaders that created Boko Haram to fight one another became unable to control Boko Haram, after they had achieved their objectives, it was taken over by a series of interest groups, probably, including the Federal Government itself, to control its political enemies.”

According to the former governor, either Jonathan was plotting, with the aid of Boko Haram, to rig the 2015 election, or he wanted to use Boko Haram to prevent the election from holding altogether so that he would continue in office after 2015. Hear him: “…this destabilization (caused by Boko Haram) is aimed at making the 2015 election impossible, or if it takes place at all, it will be easy to rig, because people will be concerned about the insecurity more than with voting, when they know that the vote doesn’t even count…” It is either this, he said, or “Nigeria is being destabilised so that there will be no election in 2015…according to the 1999 Constitution, if no election is held in 2015, the President will be able to continue, because the constitution allows him to hand over to an elected President. Which means, if there is no elected President in 2015, Jonathan will continue.”

In my piece, I plainly made it clear that only a blatant liar will speak like Alhaji Balarabe Musa by proving convincingly that, rather than being sponsored by Jonathan, Islamic terrorism is simply a global phenomenon and that Nigerian Boko Haram is just our own share of this terrorism in this part of the world. My piece on this can be viewed here:
http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/07/24/no-balarabe-musa-jonathan-not-to-blame-for-boko-haram-menace

On August 11, 2014, my piece, At Last, Buhari Attacked By Jonathan’s Men! ” was published by PM News. It was a response to the malicious APC politicians who, after the attack on General Muhammadu Buhari by Boko Haram, accused Jonathan’s men of being the masterminds. The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, had come out with an interesting theory about the “assassination attempt” on Gen. Buhari in an interesting article entitled, “Who Wants General Buhari Dead?” In the piece, Igbokwe said that Jonathan might not have been directly behind the attack, but it could have been people looking to curry favour from him. Insisting that the attempt on Buhari’s life had everything to do with the 2015 elections, Igbokwe said that President Jonathan needed to look within, and urgently. Hear him: “I am running away with the thinking that the crisis bedevilling the nation cannot be divorced from President Jonathan’s ambition to rule Nigeria beyond 2015. While this inordinate ambition is being pursued left and right, front and back, up and down, the nation is left bare at the mercy of insurgents, and mass murderers.

“If the truth must be told, Nigeria has to remain a political entity for somebody to become the President. President Jonathan should look inwards pronto. Those who targeted Gen. Buhari may be playing real politics for President Jonathan’s 2015 ambition. It may be right to push the blame to Boko Haram but nobody is a political idiot here.”

Again, in my piece I debunked this fallacious accusation by pointing out that Buhari, even though a Muslim, is seen by Boko Haram members as an infidel because he is not only a supporter of Western Democracy, which Boko Haram is out to fight against, but in fact its very candidate!  I wrote:

“Boko Haram is purely religious. Members of the sect are fighting to Islamize the entire north and if possible even Nigeria as a whole. Abubakah Shekau has made this very clear several times but unfortunately, on each occasion politicians have always overshadowed his statements with their malicious lies. However, whatever be the degree of these lies, Shekau is determined to eliminate those he refers to as “Muslim infidels”, that is, Muslims who because of Nigerian democracy are betraying the faith of Islam. Certainly, there are many northern politicians who are sponsoring the sect, but most of these former Heads of State may not really be among these politicians as most Nigerians assume. Buhari, who is simply desperate to rule Nigeria at all costs and who had even spoken openly against the sect members, is simply on top of the list of the “infidels” whom the sect members have determined to eliminate. But the problem with many Nigerians is simply carelessness and consequently the tendency to forget things easily. Some people started linking Buhari to Boko Haram simply because of the statement he was said to have made after the 2011 general elections: that he would make the country ungovernable for Jonathan. But the truth is that this statement was about Buhari’s personal ambition to rule Nigeria under a democratic system which has nothing to do with Boko Haram agenda. While some people have said that that 2011 election was to some extent free and fair in several parts of the country, this writer was in the north at that time and really — frankly speaking — witnessed that Buhari, who was massively supported by many in the north, was actually frustrated by the ruling party at the end of that unfortunate exercise and hence can rightly testify that the General must have made that statement out of anger. In other words, the statement that he would make the country ungovernable really had nothing to do with Boko Haram, period. Boko Haram is out to fight all democrats, and Buhari is not just a democrat, but also a Boko Haram critic, is it logical then, to say that Buhari is using Boko Haram to make the country ungovernable? No, it is not!

I tried, in the piece, to show that
some Muslims who have argued that Islam does not support Shekau’s position on democracy are simply mere comedians. Modern democracy, it must be noted, unlike the type practised in ancient Greece, was actually propounded by ardent enemies of religion, many of whom were atheists. The origin of it is simply the French Revolution, particularly the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen of 1789, which affirmed the so-called principles of civil liberty and of equality before the law. That is why it is simply alien to Islam and to all the ancient religions. In fact, even true Christianity also forbids modern democracy. Islam, on its part, is simply an anti-democratic religion because Islamic fundamentalism is incompatible with the pluralism that is necessary for a democratic state. And may I add here that Muslim societies (such as many of the Arab or Asian states, for example Saudi Arabia) are authoritarian and consequently violently repressive. Authoritarianism is the natural consequence of the legal and doctrinal rigidity which makes a political culture of compromise impossible. Shari’a law is viewed as perfect and divine. Consequently, laws are best made through theocratic interpretation rather than democratic debate. This lends to systems structured around institutions such as the Faqih and the role of the "clergy". Shari’a does not require separate legislatively defined provisions. The notion of equal citizenship is also absent from Islamic thought because insurmountable inequalities between believers and non-believers are built into Islam. The piece can be viewed here: http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/08/11/at-last-buhari-attacked-by-jonathans-men

In September 2014 I wrote another piece, “Ihejirika Sponsoring Boko Haram? An Inquiry”—a response to the so-called Australian “crisis negotiator”, Stephen Davis, who really set the media ablaze with his allegations regarding Boko Haram sponsors. Davis aroused our sleeping consciousness when he alleged in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Company (ABC) that the Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram, was being funded by Nigerian politicians, and in a subsequent interview with Arise TV, Davis went further to name former Borno State Governor, Modu Sheriff and former Chief of Army staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, as sponsors of the group. Davis had visited Nigeria to negotiate the release of the over 200 schoolgirls abducted since April 2014 by Boko Haram terrorists. He previously worked as a negotiator for Nigerian government under ex-Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Shehu Yar’Adua administrations during the Niger-Delta militants uprising in the South-South. Although his allegations were proved—beyond reasonable doubt—to be false, many Nigerians believed him. Wole Soyinka for instance, gave the impression that they were true.

In my piece published by Pointblanknews.com on February 27, 2015, I seriously cast doubt on the sincerity of Buhari with regards to Boko Haram menace, given his contradiction by asking the Federal Government to stop the clampdown of Boko Haram “insurgents” in October 2014. Buhari, who then spoke on a Liberty Radio programme, accused Jonathan’s government of killing and destroying houses belonging to Boko Haram members while the Niger Delta militants got special treatment. He said that unlike the “special treatment” given to the Niger Delta militants by the federal government, the Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished by the government. While accusing Jonathan of failing from the beginning to address the security situation in the country, Buhari said he had never been in support of the state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, and shockingly, according to Buhari, “what is responsible for the security situation in the country is caused by the activities of Niger Delta militants.”

Can we then see the reason why he is now hunting for the Niger Deltans while almost completely ignoring the murderous activities of his Boko Haram brothers in the North-East?

So far, all the structures put in place by Jonathan to tackle the terrorists—the military checkpoints and the rest—have been dismantled by Buhari, and Boko Haram terrorists now move freely in the North East, destroying lives just as they want. See this also:
  http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/186492-how-buharis-slow-pace-is-affecting-the-war-against-boko-haram.html

Now, in his recent reaction to the current activities of Boko Haram, the Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, has lamented that “Boko Haram insurgency” has worsened since Buhari assumed office. He said: “I am worried about the resurgence of Boko Haram activities in Nigeria.  Shortly before the inauguration of the present government, the country had almost rolled back Boko Haram and its activities in every part of Nigeria—from Adamawa to Borno, Yobe, Plateau and Kaduna. I was hoping that when we come back in the 8th Assembly, that I will work with our colleagues from the North-East to develop a plan of action that will help to rehabilitate that part of Nigeria. I feel so concerned about the suffering of our people from the North-East of Nigeria. I had hoped that by now we would be tasking ourselves on how best to rebuild that part of Nigeria. Regrettably, the actions of Boko Haram seem to have resurfaced now; not only in Borno, they have carried out their activities also in Plateau, they have gone to Adamawa and Kaduna. I am worried that if nothing is done, the next target would be Abuja. Maybe they will start going to the South. It is important for us as those in government, whether executive or legislature, to come together to find solutions to these problems.”

Indeed, nothing is currently being done. Instead, Buhari is busy pursuing his perceived “enemies”—the Biafrans and the Niger Deltans—while completely ignoring the terrorists who are now slaughtering human beings like fowls. Since Buhari became president, the death toll of Boko Haram victims has risen significantly and is still rising day after day, while the number of killed Islamic terrorists has fallen significantly compared to that of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s last month of rule. A chart by naij.com showing how many people have been killed since Buhari was sworn-in as the president, has shown that the number of Boko Haram fighters killed under Buhari has declined sharply for the same period. Put simply, Buhari is unwilling to fight the terrorists—this cannot necessarily be as a result of any weakness on his part as we can see him too vigorously fighting the Niger Deltans and even the armless Biafrans.

More lamentable, still, is that the evil Nigerian media—as well as all those “human right activists” such as Soyinka or the "Bring Back Our Girls" campaigners who mercilessly criticised Jonathan’s “clueless government”—are now completely silent in the face of the terror going on currently in the North-East. Prominent Nigerian Newspapers—massively controlled by the ruling party—don’t report the atrocities of Boko Haram currently going on in the North-East, and when they do occasionally such killings are never made the headlines. Hence, instead of ebbing, the deaths and destruction caused by Boko Haram is simply galloping currently compared to the pre-May 29 era.  This is despite the moving of the military command to Maiduguri, Borno State capital and epicentre of the violence which has so far claimed over 20,000 lives since the move by Boko Haram to declare Nigeria an Islamic Caliphate started in 2009.

Before Buhari assumed office, the Jonathan’s administration had recovered some lost territories from the Islamic terrorists. It should also be remembered that Buhari had during his electioneering campaign promised to tackle Boko Haram if elected into office. Well, he has now been elected into office and has since been doing quite the opposite of his promise.  There have been over 30 terror-related attacks since the election of General Muhammadu Buhari on March 28, 2015. So far, about 700 people have been killed either through bombings, or beheading, or shooting. Precisely, here are some—not all—of the facts, as reported by some newspapers:

July 13: Two bombs planted by suspected
Boko Haram fighters went off at a bar in a northern town in Cameroon, killing at least 14 people.

These are just a few of the figures which I was able to document—never the whole figures. As I write, Boko Haram is still killing innocent people in the northeastern Nigeria and Buhari’s government is simply doing nothing about this.  They aim ultimately at—if possible—wiping out the entire “Christians” from the country—of course when I say “Christians” I’m referring to Protestantism, a false Christianity which offends God, as there is hardly true Catholicism here—to destroy western democracy and establish an Islamic caliphate, and to Islamise the whole nation thereafter.  As Shekau himself puts it:

“We will not stop until our aim is achieved; so everyone that calls himself a Muslim should stop obeying the constitution, should leave democracy, should stay away from western education. We are the bombers of Nyanya; yes we are the bombers; if you really want to know who did it, let me tell you now; it was Shekau that did it”.

Chuckling and tapping his chest, he said:

“This is me, Abubakar Shekau whose turban you don’t like seeing; whose armoured shirt you so much hate; this is my usual gun with which I kill. Get more annoyed, because I am still here; yes, I am the Shekau that does not like Christians, and I don’t like Muslims that relate with Christians. We have been commanded by Allah not to associate with infidels because they cannot be trusted until they accept your religion. So you cannot say you are a believer and then you go and follow democracy; we cannot allow you to ridicule the religion of God; never! ...I am not afraid of death; and I pray that God should let me be killed by an unbeliever so that I can gain His paradise. We don’t love this sinful world of yours; we want to die and go to the presence of Him who created everyone so that we can enjoy ourselves. Yes. I am the dreaded Shekau; the one even Obama fears; not even Obama, even if Pharaoh were alive today he would reckon with me (laughing). To hell with the United Nations! To hell with Ban ki Moon! To hell with Obama! Yes. We did the bombing in Nyanya; we did it.”

Shekau’s activities we find well written in the Quran:

“O you who believe! Fight those of disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find hardness in you; and know that Allah is with those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious)” (Sura 9: verse 123)

Again: “Slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them.” (Sura 9:5), etc.

From Ivereigh to Abdication, the Canonical steps implied by the “Team Bergoglio” scandal

Again, on the Solemnity of the Epiphany of Our Lord, January 6, 2015, Br. Alexis Bugnolo wrote the following, in Rome:

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio takes the vow
of secrecy at the opening of the 2013 Conclave
(BBC, screen shot by From Rome blog, cropped)

On the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, the Catholic Church celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, of the Eternal Light over the darkness merited by this world by the sin of Adam, the darkness which is the demerit of sin, the alienation of God, the loss of God’s Light which would have led Adam’s race from its first progeny to a most splendid glory. For on this day, the Church celebrates the revelation of the Eternal Light incarnate in the womb of the Most Blessed Virgin, revealed now to the Gentiles who seek Him out; and not all gentiles, but only those who like the Magi of old, seek Him with sincerity and zeal.

This great Mystery which we celebrate today must be echoed in all the choices of life which we make, must be echoed in the entire life of the Church in all the choices She makes, must even be echoed in the governance of the Church by all the choices which the Sacred Hierarchy makes.

A Church which does not observe Her own laws, thus, can never be the Church which proclaims the Mystery of the Epiphany; and for this reason, corruption in the Church is an abominable denial of the truth of all that the Epiphany represents.

Hence, it is most appropriate, once again to affirm that the facts which surround the “Team Bergoglio” scandal and its consequences in law merit in the most extreme and supreme manner the resolution of the doubts and questions raised.

For this reason, the From Rome blog will now summarize the Canonical Case against “Team Bergoglio” and show why the validity of the election of Cardinal Bergoglio is ostensibly invalidated thereby, and this with a high probability that the contrary is not true.  A summary of reports on the “Team Bergoglio” scandal as well as those blog posts from the From Rome blog can be found in our Chronology of Reports on Team Bergoglio, which is updated regularly. The facts contained in the articles listed in this Chronology, will now be summarized for the facility of the reader:

The crime against UDG 81

Dr. Austen Ivereigh, the former spokesman for Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, in the ninth chapter of his biography of Pope Francis, The Great Reformer: Francis and the Making of a Radical Pope, says that 8 Cardinals conspired to and did succeed in promoting the election of Cardinal Bergoglio by means of seeking vote-promises from 25 Cardinal electors to be cast in the first balloting of the Conclave on March 12, 2013.  From the text of Ivereigh, it can be supposed that of the 8 conspirators, 2-3 were not electors.  In accord with the terms of the papal law, Universi Dominic Gregis (UDG) paragraph 81, all pacts, agreements or promises forged under any kind of obligation, however light or strong, merit for the participants who are electors the penalty of excommunication latae sententiae.  The terms of UDG 81 indicate clearly that the excommunication is ipso facto, that is, imposed in the very act of the transgression. Dr. Ivereigh, on March 12, 2013 in a BBC broadcast admitted to have met the alleged ring-leader of the campaign, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor; Ivereigh further confesses in the same BBC appearance that all agreements regarding voting are forbidden by the papal law.  The Cardinal in a newspaper interview on Sept. 12, 2013 admitted to being the head of the campaign and that Pope Francis knew this and thanked him for it on the day after the election; the Cardinal also confirmed that as of March 12, 2013 Cardinal Bergoglio knew he was going to be a candidate, and that he would make a strong showing on the first ballot. As regards these claims, none of the Cardinals implicated by name have substantially or totally denied them, since they first came to public knowledge, six weeks ago, on Nov. 23, 2014. (cf. The improbity of Team Bergoglio’s Recent Denials).

The penalties in virtue of Canon 1329 expand to Cardinal Bergoglio

In accord with canon 1329, all Cardinal electors who assisted in such wise, as the crime could not have not be accomplished without them, are also punished with the same kind of excommunication.  This includes Cardinal Bergoglio, since it is morally impossible that he did not know of the nature of the campaign, when he could have stopped it by merely communicating his abhorrence for the perpetration of a crime.  Dr. Ivereigh in a recent video interview admits that Cardinal Bergoglio came to Rome for the Conclave with the desire to be a candidate. His insistence to purchase undergarments the day after election, may also argue that he was aware that the manner of his election would incriminate him unless he showed himself free of any intention to be elected.  To hold that Bergoglio was unaware of the nature of the campaign would be to hold that he never talked to any of his supporters prior to the closed sessions of the Conclave; that he did not take control of his own election, that he did not seek to obtain the papacy, that he did not expect to be elected.

The election of Cardinal Bergoglio had by 78 votes

According to reports, Cardinal Bergoglio obtained 16 votes in the first round of voting, and won the election on the last ballot of March 13, 2013 with 78 votes, that is only 2 votes more than the necessary 2/3 majority to win (76). The actual numbers are known to the Cardinal Electors and those who assisted them in the Sistine Chapel on March 12-13, 2013, all of whom, however, are bound by oath not to reveal the information, without explicit permission of the Pope. The numbers reported come from apparent indiscretions, made by individuals, following the euphoria of Pope Francis’ election.

Canon 171 invalidates the election by reason of the violation of UDG 81

According to the norm of canon 171 §1, the votes of excommunicated electors cannot be tallied; and if they are tallied as part of the required number for victory, then in accord with
canon 171 §2, the election is null and void.  This canon in §1, °3 cites those excommunicated by judicial sentence or decree; canon 20 specifies that all papal laws such as UDG are general decrees; the Latin text of UDG 81 uses the same verb of imposition specified as a condition for canon 171 §1, ° 3 (innodare).  Thus there is no doubt that canon 171 invalidates papal elections in which the number of votes necessary for election (2/3 majority) is obtained by counting 16 votes from excommunicated electors, as appears to be the case in the “Team Bergoglio” scandal.  While it is possible that some of the original 16 votes cast in the first round were not promised, it is morally improbable that less than 2 were.

What must now be done

The case having attained a sufficient level of probity according to its facti species, that is, according to the appearance of the facts, it must be judged by the competent authority.

Since the case regards the invalidity of the election, the validity of such a judgement must itself be secured in such wise that no matter the outcome of the judgement, the result will be obtained by a method in which all parties agree is lawful, legitimate, licit and valid.

If Cardinal Bergoglio was validly elected, then as Pope his authority would be necessary to resolve the matter.  If he was not validly elected, the Sacred College of Cardinals in virtue of the authority granted to them in UDG 5 can resolve the matter.
Hence, to judge the case of the scandal of “Team Bergoglio” it seems wise to propose the following:

That the Pope convoke to consistory all  the Cardinals, both those who were electors and those who were non-electors in the conclave of 2013, with the Cardinals created since the election of Pope Francis in attendance but remaining silent and not voting, by their own free decision.

That the Pope in consistory express, in humility, his willingness to abdicate if it should be found that his election was invalid.

That the Pope in consistory grant to all the Cardinals assembled, release from their vow of secrecy regarding all affairs of the Conclave, so that they might speak freely.

That the Cardinals agree by unanimous vote, that the successor to Pope Francis, in the eventuality of his abdication or invalidation, grant to all Cardinals the same release from their vow.

That the Cardinals be called by the Dean of the College to give individual testimony as to whether they were asked to promise their vote for any specific Cardinal.

That the Cardinals in virtue of the authority granted to them in UDG 5 determine whether the testimony puts in doubt the validity of the election of 2013, and by unanimous decision judge whether the doubt is sufficient to harm the unity of the Church.

That Pope Francis confirm whatsoever they determine.

That Pope Francis, in the case of a positive determination, abdicate his office by written decree in the presence of the entire Sacred College; in the case of a negative determination, publish the findings of the investigation and grant the Cardinals freedom to speak about the entire affair in public, after the consistory is concluded, so as to confirm its authenticity and put all doubts to rest.

If those who know that any of the above facts or canonical interpretations are false or true, now remain silent, they will sin gravely either in regard to a lack of charity for the truth and reputation of those involved, or as accomplices after the fact.  If the competent authority does not judge the undisputed case, the Church Herself will be gravely injured in Her reputation and adhesion to the Mystery of the Epiphany, of the manifestation of the Eternal Light and Truth, incarnate among us.
